HOUSING FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA: FROM POLICY TO PRACTICE IN GREATER MANCHESTER

Healthy homes and neighbourhoods can build bonds between neighbours, reduce social isolation and loneliness, promote wellbeing, and prevent physical and mental ill health.

In December 2021, Dementia United (within the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership) published a report in collaboration with the University of Manchester  (Healthy Ageing Research Group and the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing).

The report is part of an extensive period of consultation over the past 18months and including more than 250 stakeholders across housing, health and social care in Greater Manchester, alongside people with lived experience of dementia, carers and loved ones.
