So Many Beauties Festival: A Dementia-Friendly Music Event

On Friday, 20th September 2024, Dementia United (Greater Manchester ICB’s programme for Dementia) took part in the So Many Beauties Festival at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

The event, aimed at celebrating the role of music in enhancing connection, creativity, and well-being for people living with dementia, brought together a diverse audience of people living with dementia, carers, and the wider community to experience a variety of musical and artistic activities.

As an exhibitor in the festival’s Healthy Brain Space, the Dementia United stall was supported by members of the Dementia United team, together with our partners from the Dementia Carers Expert Reference Group.  Visitors had the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about Greater Manchester ICB’s dementia programme, which aims to make Greater Manchester the best place to live for those affected by dementia.
  • Speak with our colleagues from the Dementia Carers Expert Reference Group  who have direct lived experience.
  • Discover resources and tools to support dementia care and promote brain health.

The festival provided a wonderful platform to engage with the community, offering insight into dementia care and the benefits of music and creativity.

Attendees found the opportunity to connect with our lived experience colleagues particularly valuable, and everyone enjoyed the musical and creative activities.
