Dementia Action Week is an awareness campaign led by Alzheimer’s Society, bringing people and organisations together to act on dementia. Find out about all the fabulous events and activities happening across Greater Manchester
This year, the Alzheimer’s Society are encouraging everyone to join the Forget Me Not Appeal. Behind each Forget Me Not badge, there are stories of lives devastated by dementia and when we all wear the badge together, it becomes a movement of hope, action and unity. A visible reminder that it will take a society to beat dementia
Share your Forget Me Not story . Their Forget Me Not is a visible reminder that it’s only together we can beat dementia – by giving vital support to those who need it, funding ground-breaking research, and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.
Share your Forget Me Not story | Alzheimer’s Society and they will share it to their story wall.

House of Memories on the Road is National Museums Liverpool’s touring mobile museum that opens into an immersive cinema and activity space. The first-ever immersive mobile museum experience in the UK, it has been designed to create memorable experiences for vulnerable and socially isolated people and people living with dementia. The vehicle meets people in their neighbourhoods – at settings such as care homes, community centres or even local shopping car parks. Using digital technology, House of Memories on The Road recreates the sights, sounds and smells of the past through a virtual ‘front door’. Experiences include:
- a trip on Liverpool’s Overhead Railway
- a visit to a 1950s grocery store
- a virtual day out at the seaside
- a journey back in time to an old school room
Monday May 18th 2026. Allerton Car park, off Fredrick Road at Salford University from 11am-3pm
Email: m.j.pocsai@salford.ac.uk to book yourself a free ½ guided memory session in the mobile museum, be a volunteer on the day, or to get more information.

The event will include talks from invited speakers, and artworks created in collaboration with people who are living with dementia. Light refreshments will be provided.
Thursday 21st May 2026. 10am to 2pm. Immediate Media, Vineyard House, 33 Brook Green, W6 7BT. Register here to book your ticket
