John O’Doherty shares his poem Banjos

John O’Doherty is an Independent Dementia Advocate and a member of the Dementia United Board. John’s been involved in the programme for many years, playing a critical role in our Greater Moments project.

I met Ronald initially at a dementia voice meeting and later linked up with him on Twitter. It was there that we recognised we both shared a love for reggae music.

Ronald is involved with a project he has developed named Talk dementia. He approached me and asked if I was prepared to write a poem about my love of reggae music and he would produce the music.

I readily agreed and thus the birth of Banjos.
